Gallery Show

1. The experience I gained from the gallery show was looking at all the people view my artwork. It felt sort of strange at first because we're not really used to other strangers look at our photography besides our classmates. It did feel nice to hear good comments about them though.

2. Some advice I can give to next years AP Studio Art class is to always do your work and don't get behind in class because towards the end of the year it will be hard. Also to not miss any classes.

3. The positive aspects of this class were getting to do your concentration series and your quality pictures. I think those were positive aspects because you got to photograph whatever you wanted.

4. What I learned about myself as an artist this year is that I'm a lot more capable than I thought I was. I was behind at one point but then got caught up, and ended up having extra time to help out other peers.

5. I think I will use my photography skills that I learned in this class for my future because I like taking pictures outside of school. I learned a lot of new things in this class with colors, movements, and textures. I think they will benefit me later on in life.

Final Concentration

These are the final images I chose.

Week Six

These pictures are my last set of photos. In the first image it shows the dog being blurred in the background but it's focused on the bars, indicating that it's trapped. The second picture shows the dog trying to get out of the place where it's being held captive. The third image shows a beware sign of where the dog is, but a majority of people don't know that some animal abusers put a 'beware of dog' sign outside their yards so people won't get close and see the damage they've done to the dog. In the fourth image it shows an acutal abused dog, looking at it's owner and in the fifth image, it finally found it's home.

Week Five

This week once again I didn't take any pictures of animals. I focused on the habitat mainly. I really tried to capture the neglect of the animals in the photographs. The way I feel like I captured it is because there's no food or clean water in any of the dishes. In image one and three, it's showing how the animals don't have food. In picture two it shows that they don't provide clean water. In photograph four, I showed semi-dirty water and in the reflection of the water it shows that the animal is in a trapped environment. In my last image I made a triptych of dirty-rusty water that was provided for the animals (in the bottom right picture, it shows that there was a rusty rock inside the water itself). After these images I'm thinking of turning the sadness and neglect to happiness. I will try to show how happy some animals are now that they've found new owners that truly love, and care for them.

Week Four

For week 4 of my blog I decided to do more of a setting/story thing instead of animals. (Even though the first one I put up was one of my dog looking sad, don't worry he's not sad! He's just about to fall asleep haha.) In some of my images it shows a lot of restriction. For example photographs 2, 4, and 5, show that the animals don't have any freedom. In my third image it shows an unclipped collar with a dog tag , representing that the animal has escaped an unsafe habitat like animal abuse. In the last image it's showing an unsanitary place to live in for an animal. Later on I'm thinking of making some diptychs with the a setting and the animals.

Week Three

This week for my concentration series I went to a vet clinic. I took pictures of animals that were injured, and some that didn't have any owners. At first I was only going to do portrait shots, but then I wanted to show the environment that some animals are held captive in. So I decided to do a diptych with two of my images. I feel that with the diptych it shows a much stronger picture and also more of a story. Another change that I made this week was that I kept some pictures in color instead of having them in value and contrast. It showed more of a trapped mood because you can see the colors and they give off a I'm-in-jail-help-me feeling and low saturation. Overall I think these are some of my best pictures.
