These are the photographs I took for week one of my concentration series. The pictures connect to my series of animal cruelty because my black dog "Tito" was found neglected on the streets, and my white dog "Paloma", she was not only neglected, but abused as well. In these photographs, it shows them relaxing safe and sound, knowing they have a good household to stay in.
You captured a lot of character in the dogs' faces. You might want to work with a stronger light source if you're going to work in black and white so your images don't turn out so gray. My question for you is, how do we take these beyond cute snapshots of dogs? How can you communicate the concept of animal cruelty beyond just straight photos of dogs?
ReplyDeleteReading your header and looking through the photos it definitely portrayed a deeper feeling. Having all the photos in black and white adds to the effect of sadness and their facial expressions also have a lot of emotion in them. You can see it through the gloss in their eyes, they look so sad and helpless, which they were, from being abused. I think it's a really cool concentration idea and I can't wait to see how your final portfolio turns out.
